The board of reigning Nigeria champions, Kano Pillars, has sacked coach Okey Emordi.
The club in a statement signed by its spokesman Idris Malikawa, said the new board headed by Kabiru Baita approved Emordi’s dismissal.
The statement added that a way forward for the club will be charted on Tuesday.
The club currently lies ninth on the table with 27 points, nine points behind leaders Sunshine Stars and Enyimba, africanFootball.com reports.
Both players and fans have passed a vote of no confidence on Emordi, who led the club to win a third straight league championship last season.
