Tough time ahead for cultists, others - Amosun

Governor Ibikunle Amosun has warned cultists operating in the state to desist, saying his administration will wage a full scale war against them.

Amosun issued the warning during a sensitization tour of Ijebu-Ode and Sagamu areas of the state.

The governor said Ogun will no longer be a comfort zone for men of the underworld, assuring that he will personally lead the operation to remove cultists and other criminals off the streets in the state.

He said any member of a cult group arrested will be prosecuted, saying provision of law and order is the first priority of a governor.

Amosun said:”I have been informed about the upsurge in cultism. I will not allow that. I will personally lead the war from school to school and one area to another to arrest them. We are ready for them.

“This will not be a comfort zone for cultists, kidnappers and robbers. This is a warning signal. Whoever you are, once you are caught to be a cultist, you are going to face the full wrath of the law. The provision of law and order is my number one priority as the governor.”
