Plans to have Super Eagles striker Gbolahan Salami feature in the September 5 Afcon showdown against Tanzania, may end up a mirage unless something urgent is done to retrieve his international passport from the Norwegian embassy.
A very credible source close to the player informed that Salami submitted his passport to the Norwegian embassy after his agent got him a deal with a top club in the Norwegian league with a promise that everything relating to the contract will be completed within the August transfer window. Unfortunately three weeks stipulated for the visa to be ready has lapsed with no word from the embassy that the visa is ready.
The ugly scenario we gather is now giving the player hydra-headed worries with the possibility of missing Eagles assignment starring him on the face even as he is appealing to the relevant authorities to help him get his passport out of the Norwegian embassy before the end of this week so that he can be part of the crucial games ahead of the Super Eagles.
